On Sunday, 22 March 2026, members of the Catholic Womenโs League together with the Divine Mercy group made a heartfelt visit to the Senior Sisters (Nuns) at Stella Maris Convent, Tanjung Aru. The gathering was one of fellowship, compassion and shared faith.
This annual Lenten visit has become a meaningful tradition, embodying the spirit of the season; prayer, reflection and almsgiving. Beyond its spiritual significance, the visit also seeks to bring joy, comfort and companionship to the elderly Sisters, reminding them that they remain cherished members of the faith community.
Adding to the warmth of the occasion, the visit coincided with the birthday of one of the Sisters. The celebration was marked with great joy, as members and Sisters alike gathered to share in the simple yet heartfelt moment of cutting the birthday cake.
The Sisters were also treated to a lovingly prepared lunch by members of the Catholic Womenโs League and the Divine Mercy group. Following the meal, the Divine Mercy Coordinator led the gathering in prayer, culminating in the recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, an atmosphere filled with reverence and grace.
Towards the conclusion of the visit, Datin Theresa William, Chairlady of the Catholic Womenโs League, together with Mdm Jennifer Soon, Divine Mercy Coordinator, presented donations to Mother Grace Doesing. The contributions included cash and essential items such as rice, eggs, dried and canned foods, cooking oil, soya sauce, powdered milk and pampers, tokens of care and solidarity with the Sisters.
Mother Grace Doesing, who oversees the Senior Sistersโ Convent, warmly welcomed the visitors and expressed her heartfelt gratitude for their generosity and kindness. In return, Datin Theresa, as coordinator of the visit, conveyed sincere appreciation to Mother Grace and the Sisters for their gracious hospitality.
The visit was a gentle yet powerful reminder that even small acts of love, when done with sincerity, can bring immense joy and strengthen the bonds of community, especially during the sacred season of Lent.
